Lolo Jones, who took home the USA and World Championships for hurdle events in 2013, only achieved this feat through a great deal of work and perseverance. Jones was raised with a poor and difficult life being the daughter of an unwed mom who was also a mother to five kids. She lived with her mother in a basement church and was constantly in motion. A life of constant movement made it necessary for Jones to change schools and attend a new school every year, until she began high school. Jones won the Gatorade track and field Athlete-of-the Year award while in high school. as a cellist in the student section, Jones was also part of her school's school orchestra. Jones started her professional career at the college level as one of the most talented hurdlers. In the 2002 NCAA Track & Field Championship, she won in the 100m hurdles. Jones also was a part of the second team to win the 100-meter Relay event. Jones won the NCAA Indoor Hurdles contest in 2003 and 2004. Jones started her track career in 2005 after she completed her studies at the university. The same year she also won in the Torino Memorial Event, while in 2026, she was the winner of the Ostrava Track race as well as Heusden.

The family was raised and born within Cape Town South Africa Brandt immigrated with her family to Auckland New Zealand in her early teens. Brandt was identified by local casting agencies and was cast in the character of Naevia in the Starz blockbusters Spartacus Blood and Sand and Spartacus Gods of the Arena. She was one of the most prominent actors in the show, working alongside Steven S. D Knight and Sam Raimi. Mazikeen was a well-loved DC/Vertigo comics character as well as on the Netflix hit series Lucifer for 6 years. Lesley Brandt and her family moved to Auckland, New Zealand in the year 1999. In Auckland Brandt's first job, she was an agent for sales, and later was elevated to the position of an IT consultant. Lesley's first job was a few model projects. Her appearances then included numerous commercials. She graduated in 2008 and completed her acting studies. In 2009, she began her acting studies, she continued training with the Meisner approach to study. Lesley Brandt was the first to get a important acting role with New Zealand in TV Drama Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt has shown up in her role in the New Zealand TV drama series Shortland Street as a guest role as a supporting character. The next time she appeared on the show was This Is Not My Life.
